Almond Foundation Biscuits
Almond foundation biscuits are great to eat and also make an excellent biscuit for a base of other dishes like custard slices and other desserts. A good dessert is a biscuit base filled with ice cream and frozen.
4 tablespoons icing sugar
125g flour, sifted
50g chopped almonds
125g self raising flour, sifted
1 teaspoon vanilla
Cream butter and sugar, add egg and blend. Add sifted flours, almonds, and vanilla. Mix to a smooth dough.
Roll dough thinly and cut to desired shape and size with a biscuit cutter. Bake at 180C for 15 to 20 minutes
