Basic Plain Cake
A simple plain cake ready for almost anything.
250g self raising flour
¼ teaspoon salt
½ cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
Beat butter and sugar until creamy, and add eggs. Beat until mixture is light and creamy. Sift flour and salt and add to mixture alternately with the milk and vanilla.
Pour into a greased 20cm cake tin and bake 40 to 45 minutes at 180C
